Morning Ritual for Success

We all know those people who seem to accomplish more before 9 AM than the average person manages to tackle in a full day. What separates the average from the productive? It's certainly not a matter of capability, as we're all humans working with the same 24 hours. Nor would it be right to chop it down to a matter of talent or resources. There's almost always someone with less resources than us who has managed to achieve seemingly insurmountable feats.

The big difference between someone who leads a purposeful, successful, productive life and another person who mehs their way through the day until happy hour lies in the decision to become a conscious creator of their life- or not.

When you decide to create your life, you step out of victimhood and tap into your personal power. From here you can discover what it is you want to experience during your run on Earth and make shit happen. So how can you begin to consciously create your life? It all stems from how you start your day. A solid morning ritual will give you a sprinting start to creating a rad life. Here's a simple routine to get you started:

Step 1: Be.

Begin your day by simply being. Meditate, sit with yourself, watch your thoughts and feel your breath move through you. Starting out the day by tuning into your breath centers you in the present and gives you a chance to consciously mold your thoughts before you approach the chaos of the day.

Step 2: Move.

Moving first thing in the morning helps you shake off morning fog, gives you energy and helps you to think clearer for the rest of the day. Not to mention the endorphins boost your mood and the act of doing something good for your body will get your thoughts moving in a positive direction. There are even more perks to exercising outside in the morning, as the sun exposure also serves as a mood booster and helps regulate your circadian rhythm, making it easier for you to catch some quality ZzZ's at night.

Step 3: Intend.

At this point, the goal is to set a conscious intention for your day. Start by visualizing your dream life 5 years from today. Then backtrack to the present day by determining what you can do today to move closer to your long term vision. See your day unfolding seamlessly, envision yourself moving swiftly and joyfully towards your biggest, hairiest, most audacious goals. Now jot down one major intention for the day and no more than 3 things you would like to accomplish or experience that day. By doing this you are hopping over from the passenger side into the driver's seat of your life- no longer watching things happen to you, but instead consciously sculpting your life.
